Kaldidalur Mountain Pass

Private day tour, 10 hours, all year.


Our first stop is Borgarnes, the largest town on Iceland‘s west coast, after which we proceed through farmland in Borgarfjordur to lava field Hallmundarhraun, where we‘ll examine one of Iceland‘s largest lava tube caves, Vidgelmir.

From there, we head south across Kaldidalur (Cold Valley), which at 700m is Iceland's second-highest mountain pass, with snow-covered mountains and glaciers on all sides. Includes stops at the unique Hraunfossar waterfalls and Deildartunguhver, the world's largest hot spring.

Depart Reykjavik at 8:00 AM and return by evening.
